Southern Utah weekend weather: Higher temperatures for most areas, dense fog for others

T. GEORGE — According to the National Weather Service, this weekend’s weather for the majority of southwestern Utah will higher temperatures than last weekend; however, some areas will experience patchy, dense fog Friday morning.

St. George

Friday

Sunny with a high of 53 and low of 33, with northeast winds of 6 mph.

Saturday 

Partly sunny with a high of 53 and low of 32, with northeast winds of 7 mph.

Sunday

Sunny with a high of 52 and low of 34, with east-northeast winds of 7 mph.

Cedar City

Friday

Partly sunny with a high of 35 and low of 22, with north winds of 8-10 mph. There will be patchy dense fog before 11 a.m.

Saturday 

Mostly cloudy with a high of 33 and low of 22, with east winds of 5-7 mph. There will be patchy dense fog before 11 a.m.

Sunday

Mostly cloudy with a high of 34 and low of 25, with northeast winds of 7 mph. There will be patchy dense fog before 11 a.m.

Zion National Park/Springdale

Friday

Mostly sunny with a high of 40 and low of 26, with north-northeast winds of 7-13 mph. There will be patchy dense fog before 11 a.m.

Saturday 

Cloudy with a high of 35 and low of 25, with east winds of 13-15 mph. There will be patchy dense fog before 11 a.m.

Sunday

Partly sunny with a high of 35 and low of 28, with east winds of 11 mph. There will be patchy dense fog before 11 a.m.

Brian Head

According to the Brian Head Resort website, the area has received 0 inches of snow over the last 24 hours, maintaining a 40-inch base depth.

Friday high winds

Sunny with a high of 28 and low of 15, with north winds of 20-24 mph and gusts as high as 38. Wind chill values as low as zero in the evening.

Saturday 

Partly sunny with a high of 27 and low of 14, with southeast winds of 16 mph. Wind chill values as low as zero throughout the day.

Sunday 

Partly sunny with a high of 25 and low of 16, with east winds of 16-18 mph.

Weather warnings and advisories

There’s a hazardous weather outlook in place for the western two thirds of Utah impacting the areas of Utah’s Dixie, Zion National Park, Glen Canyon Recreation Area and Southern Utah  mountains.

Dense fog may reduce visibilities and impact travel throughout Friday. Fog and deteriorating air quality will persist through the weekend.
